This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I must say, I admire your artwork, it inspires me to improve my own skills, which I have neglected recently in favor of Persona 3, one of my favorite PS2 games...
I love comming across people who have your level of skill, it makes me realize I could do the same thing withy practice, and gives me hope for my future when my hope has begun to run low. A true pick-me-up. ^-^
Ugh, I need my own computer. I'm using someone elses computer, that is 9 years old. I don't know if it could handle a photoshop program... Then again, it is a nice computer for its age...
I wonder, have I said too much in this message? Hmmm...
Too much in a message? Nah, never for me. I actually prefer this to those who just write a few words. Makes me feel as if they just write something because they have to. It's refreshing to read a bit more. :3
And... had been slacking off lately too because of Last Remnant. I'M AN ADDICT! X3
As for the practice: Yes, it is that. Simple and easy. Only practice. I mean, compare the first stuff I uploaded here (now in my scraps) with the newest works. Even I see a big difference in those. And as for the time in between... about three or four years? not more. It is possible. I have to say that I have the sick goal of uploading something I can be proud of every week, which makes me draw a lot. But even though it's a bit stressful sometimes, this is the best way to get to practice.
As for the comp: It depends on the comp. A laptop would most likely only be able to handle small PS-Programs, maybe even only Elements. A desktop PC with the right updates should even be able to handle C4. But I have no idea about comps. ^^'
(Ffffffffff. I wrote a reply, then I accidentally hit the refresh button on this keyboard, and I lost the message. Oh well.)
Anyways, it's good to hear that you prefer longer messages, it sounds like a good idea, actually.
Aaaand... as for my art practice... I first started drawing in 3rd grade when I read the Pit Dragon Trilogy, and I didn't like the way they illustrated the book covers. So, I decided I would draw my own versions of the dragons that I could be happy with. The problem with my decion was that I hade made it during the middle of class, and my teacher didn't like the idea that I was paying more attention to my paper than to the lessons she was giving. And from there on out, no one supported my new hobby, and everyone seemed rather annoied when I tried to show any of my drawings to them, so I didn't draw very often, or ask anyone to teach me how to draw better.
It wasn't untill 9th grade that I started drawing often again, because I had re-read the same book serise that had inspired me to start drawing to begin with, and I had entered the school's art class.
I was surprized, even though I was out of practice, my drawings were still better than most other people's drawings in the entire 9th grade. So, with my self confidence boosted I started drawing again, and I found Deviant art, which inspired me further.
Now when I compair my current drawings with the ones I did in ninth grade, I'm astounded, and it gives me the urge to advance even further.
I have a friend who makes money off of her drawings she does in photoshop, and I know that if I had the same resources as she did, I could do the same, because we have the same art skill and our skill progresses at the same pace. (Well, I'd have to say that mine progresses faster because I don't draw nearly as much as she does... But that sounds, what's the word? I know there's a specific word for that... Well, it sounds like I'm full of myself, and I'd rather not be full of myself.)
I want a really good computer I can call my own. Which means I would need to save money. Which means I would need a job. Which I'm currently trying to do... I guess I need to try harder.
I love art soooooooo much...
Oh! I was going to see if I could take up a musical instrument, and I was wondering if you have any suggestions? I seem to have an inability to shift my fingers fast enough to play the ocarina... (I know. I've tried. But once again, maby I need to try harder.)
And it's a little more difficult to start and instrument now, because my school doesn't have a band. (The number of students that attend school every day is the about the size of a band.)
Sorry I haven't answered faster! I was pretty busy lately. T.T
Anyway. Here I am.
Yes, most teachers dislike it when their students draw. I was able to draw during classes because I told the teacher I could if my grades would be good. And they were. So, they never said anything against it. But I always asked them before I started to draw. Otherwise they feel ignored.
I guess getting the hang of something without help is... nearly impossible. You need people who criticize your work to know what you do wrong. And you need the praise to stick to it non the less. I know myself: I suck at doing something when I don't get those two things. ^^'
I dare to say... A computer makes art CG. That's it. It does not make it better or easier. Good results take time and hard work, may it now be traditional or CG. I tried both and know that I prefer traditional for myself. And I would recommend to everyone who wants to get the hang on art to work as much with traditional media as they do with digital. Both is important. And you can't access files in a blackout. Or files from a broken HD.
... I guess I'm too much of an analog-fan. XD
But good to hear you love what you do. I dare to say, this is the most important part. Nothing will boost you more and make it easier to advance than this.
As for music... I know a lot about pencils and such but I have absolutely no idea about music. I mean... next to that I know which I like and which I don't when I hear them.

You might want to try a harp?
